Did you know these facts about granite?

Beauty, durability, strength … and many other good qualities. Granite brings these into our homes, which is why so many people choose it for their house or flat. Because of its composition, granite is one of the most common and technically most important natural stones. Its structure, range of colours, hardness and long life make it well suited to both indoor and outdoor surfaces. Although it is a very well-known and popular stone, we are sure you did not know these facts about granite.
  1. Granite has been used in many famous structures
This natural stone was used to build some of the most famous structures in the world, in landmarks in many countries, from the United States to China. The base of the Statue of Liberty in New York is made of granite, and the faces of the American presidents are carved into Mount Rushmore, which is granite too.
  1. It comes in many colours and natural patterns
When people think of granite, many think of white, black, beige or perhaps grey granite. These colours look wonderful in our homes, but there is much more choice. Granite also comes in many other colours, such as pink, green and blue. It also comes in different styles and can have different patterns.
  1. It is a very durable natural stone
Because granite is such a hard stone, it can damage kitchen knives if you are not careful when cutting. If you have granite kitchen worktops, use chopping boards. You can even put hot pots and pans on it without worrying that the heat will damage the stone. If you want to be completely careful, you can still use trivets. On the Mohs hardness scale, where 1 stands for the softest materials and 10 for the hardest, granite ranks as high as 8.
  1. It is very easy to maintain
Granite is the easiest natural stone to maintain. The only real maintenance owners need to do is clean and, when necessary, reseal the joints between the slabs and the wall. Of course, we recommend using cleaners made for granite. Granite adds value to your home, as it is a highly sought-after material. It stands for elegance and that little something extra we usually look for when furnishing a home.
